Terms
Two warranties, and only one of them is ours
90 days on labour, 365 days on the parts we supply. Genuine OEM parts. What the manufacturer covers is a separate matter, handled by them.
- Labour
- 90 days from completion
- Parts we supply
- 365 days from completion
- Parts policy
- Genuine OEM parts only. We do not fit aftermarket substitutes into a professional range.
- Return visit
- No second diagnostic fee if the same component fails again in the period
- Record
- The written estimate and the invoice are the terms — keep both
Covered
- The labour on the repair we performed, for 90 days from the day the work was completed.
- Any part we supplied and fitted, for 365 days from the same day.
- A return visit to make good, at no diagnostic fee, where the original fault comes back on the same component.
Not covered
- A different fault on a different component. That is a new survey and a new visit.
- A part you supplied yourself. We will fit one if you insist, and it carries no warranty from us.
- Damage from a later power event, a spill, an impact, or a subsequent repair by someone else.
- Wear on a consumable that has simply reached the end of its life again — an igniter is a consumable, not a permanent fixture.
- Anything on an appliance that is not a Viking.
If your appliance is still inside the warranty Viking supplied with it, that is their cover and their process. It has to go through their own service network, and Keelson Appliance Service has no route into it. Call them first — using an outside shop on an in-warranty appliance can cost you the cover you already paid for.
Nothing on this page should be read as Keelson administering, extending or honouring anybody's warranty but its own.
Once that period has run out — which is the case for most of the equipment we see, much of which went in with the house — an independent shop is the sensible option, and the parts are the same genuine OEM parts either way.
Call the same number you booked on, quote the invoice, and describe what the appliance is doing now. If it is the same component inside the period, we come back out and there is no diagnostic fee. If it turns out to be a different fault we will tell you that on site, in front of the appliance, before any new work is agreed.
What does the work under this warranty cost?
The visit is a flat $80, credited toward the repair when you approve the work. What the repair runs on a repair carrying this warranty is below, parts and labour together, before the written estimate narrows it to one figure.
| Work | Parts and labour |
|---|---|
| Diagnostic visit | $80 flat, credited |
| Igniter or burner assembly | $210–$520 |
| Oven thermostat or heating element | $190–$610 |
| Control board or touch panel | $380–$940 |
| Refrigeration fan or defrost system | $250–$610 |
It is a band and not a price because one symptom is usually several repairs, and they do not cost the same. The survey is what picks which one it is. The whole book, and what the fee buys.
Asked about the guarantee
- What is covered after a repair?
- 90 days on the labour and 365 days on any part we supplied, from the day the work was finished. Genuine OEM parts. If the same fault returns on the same component inside that, the return visit carries no diagnostic fee.
- Does a return visit cost the $80 again?
- Not for the same fault on the same component while the warranty runs. A different fault is a different survey, and that one starts at the flat $80 again, credited toward the repair when you approve the work.
- Can you do work under the Viking warranty?
- No. That work goes through the manufacturer's own service network and we have no route into it — we are an independent shop. Call them first if the appliance is still inside it; our guarantee covers our repairs only.
